2025-2026 School Year
yesterday
Welcome to the 2025–2026 TPSA School Year
We’re pumped to kick off a fresh year of learning, leadership, and competition. This year’s theme is Charting Your Course — set a destination, choose meaningful experiences, build real skills, and lean on your TPSA crew to arrive ready to serve.
Quick Updates
Membership system We planned to open on September 1. An unforeseen delay popped up, but we’ll launch as soon as possible and email everyone the moment it is live.
Staffing Cory Lemons is now Vice President. We currently have a vacancy for Secretary. Ashley Johnson returns as a Regional Representative. New Regional Representatives are Jessica Kana, Dustin Rust, and Lacquanna Caston. Luis, Jennifer, Monica, and Richard return from last year. Ryann Bauer is now State Exhibitor Coordinator. See the latest roster on the Staff page.
Student Board The 2025–2026 State Student Board hit the ground running with a community service effort supporting Texas flood relief. Officers: Angel Guadarrama (President), Nicholas Prince (Vice President), Jeena Cooper (Secretary), Rooslyn Rivera (Treasurer), Emma Sherlock (Social Media Coordinator), Za’Tayvious Miller (State Conference Coordinator), Georgia Gessner (Outreach Coordinator). Learn more on the Student Leadership page.
Regions Regions were realigned to support growth. The former Region 7 was absorbed into Region 1 and a new Region 7 was created from parts of Regions 3 and 4. Check the updated map on the Regions page.
Membership Rates Membership pricing for the 2025–2026 school year has been simplified. We’ve removed advisor fees, introduced a single chapter fee, and added a flat-rate option for schools using Perkins funds for membership. Learn more on the Membership Pricing and Deadlines page.
State Conference New venue: Moody Gardens in Galveston. We’re excited to have the hotel and convention center under one roof so chapters are not spread between multiple hotels. Dates and pricing are posted, with more details rolling out on the State Conference page.
Regional Conferences Dates, locations, and rates are posted on the Regional Conferences page. We expect regional registration to open around the start of October.
Rulebook The Competition Rulebook revision is nearly finished and will be posted soon.
Community Service Program The program is being revised and will be updated soon. Keep an eye on the Community Service page.
Competitive Event Updates
New Event: Fire Public Service Announcement (Prepared) Competitors create a 30–60 second fire-safety PSA that delivers accurate information with creativity and clear messaging. Details on the Fire PSA page.
Search and Rescue Now scorecard-based with time used only as a cap, not the scoring factor. See the Search and Rescue page.
Agility Courses (Fire and Law) To prioritize our focus on demonstrated skills rather than raw speed, Agility events now use a standardized scorecard with a maximum time limit. With this change, the previous male and female divisions are combined into a single coed event for all competitors, with a maximum of 5 competitors registered per chapter per event.
Law Agility Course Now includes suspect apprehension and handcuffing at the end. See the Law Agility page.
Facility Design Guidelines and scorecards have been revised for consistency.
Scorecard tuning Several events received point adjustments to provide clearer evaluation steps and consistency across events.
We can’t wait to see how you chart your course this year. Watch for the membership launch, regional registration opening, and the rulebook release. Let’s get after it.
