Regional Board

Elections
TPSA is excited to announce the upcoming elections for our Regional Board. This is an essential process for our organization as we select the leaders who will guide our regions for the next two years.

Do you want to make a difference and help shape the future of your region? As a Regional Representative, you will be a vital part of the TPSA team, working collaboratively with other members of TPSA leadership and regional school advisors. Each region will elect a Regional Representative who will oversee and represent the region as well as serve as a liaison between the regions and the Executive Council. Representatives from even number regions will be elected in even number years and Representatives from odd number regions will be elected in odd number years. New Regional Representatives will take office at the conclusion of the State Competition and serve for 2 years. In the event that a region does not have a regional representative at the beginning of the competition year, the chapters in the region may be divided up among other regions for competition.

We’ve removed advisor fees, introduced a single chapter fee, and added a flat-rate option for schools using Perkins funds for membership. Learn more on the Membership Pricing and Deadlines page. State Conference New venue: Moody Gardens in Galveston. We’re excited to have the hotel and convention center under one roof so chapters are not spread between multiple hotels. Dates and pricing are posted, with more details rolling out on the State Conference page. Regional Conferences Dates, locations, and rates are posted on the Regional Conferences page. We expect regional registration to open around the start of October. Rulebook The Competition Rulebook revision is nearly finished and will be posted soon. Community Service Program The program is being revised and will be updated soon. Keep an eye on the Community Service page. Competitive Event Updates New Event: Fire Public Service Announcement (Prepared) Competitors create a 30–60 second fire-safety PSA that delivers accurate information with creativity and clear messaging. Details on the Fire PSA page. Search and Rescue Now scorecard-based with time used only as a cap, not the scoring factor. See the Search and Rescue page. Agility Courses (Fire and Law) To prioritize our focus on demonstrated skills rather than raw speed, Agility events now use a standardized scorecard with a maximum time limit. With this change, the previous male and female divisions are combined into a single coed event for all competitors, with a maximum of 5 competitors registered per chapter per event. Law Agility Course Now includes suspect apprehension and handcuffing at the end. See the Law Agility page. Facility Design Guidelines and scorecards have been revised for consistency. Scorecard tuning Several events received point adjustments to provide clearer evaluation steps and consistency across events. We can’t wait to see how you chart your course this year. Watch for the membership launch, regional registration opening, and the rulebook release. Let’s get after it.
